I love reading book series. There’s just something so special about following a story through the years as you yourself grow and change alongside it. Or maybe you discover a series later, and marathoning those books has its own kind of magic, too. Either way, all good things must come to an end. It’s simply part of the journey: all stories reach a version of “The End” to make space for something new.
I think the YA genre does this especially well— and I feel like lately, series might be more common in young adult fiction. Maybe it’s because when we’re younger, we have more time to read. Of course, we can read YA as adults too, but stories targeted to younger readers can afford to be longer and more drawn out, simply because they have (or at least should have) more time to enjoy the things they love. In any case, these YA series wrapping up in 2026 are all thought-provoking, emotional, engaging, and just plain fun to read.
