A three-year-old boy died after his mum accidentally left him in a hot car in Florida, where temperatures reached more than 38C.
Around 10.40pm on Saturday, police in Riverview, near Tampa, were called to a home when the boy’s father found him inside the parked car.
Temperatures in Riverview that day reached well over 38C, and felt much hotter.
Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said the boy was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after.
An investigation has been launched into the tragedy, but it remains unclear how long the boy was in the car.
