Greggs forced to shut 11 stores due to extreme heat

Greggs has announced that it will close 11 of its stores today and tomorrow due to the extreme heat.

The sausage roll destination said it had decided to close the branches in order to protect staff.

In a statement, Greggs told The Sun: ‘Just to let you know – the following shops will be temporarily closed on Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th June to protect our customers and colleagues during the severe hot weather.’

The shops are expected to reopen on Friday, when temperatures dip slightly.
