Hackney Central station closed after fire engulfs a garden and static caravan

Services have been suspended from Hackney Central station while firefighters tackle a huge blaze on a nearby residential road.

The fire at Cottrill Gardens in east London erupted at around 6.10pm.

Two cars,a static caravan and a grass embankment have been set alight by the blaze.

The cause of the inferno remains unknown.

Pictures from the scene showed a large column of smoke and flames filling the sky.
