A student nurse from Scotland who was battling cold symptoms was given a life-changing diagnosis when she was told that she was actually suffering from a deadly form of cancer.

Ayley Crawford was 19 when she began her degree at Glasgow Caledonian University, and started suffering from repeated colds and sinus infections.
