It’s the first day of English Wine Week.
Okay, but what the heck is that? It’s a week of, well, drinking English wine.
Forget showing up anywhere with a bottle of Prosecco, that’s naff. It really should be about celebrating the home-grown stuff. Particularly within the designated week for English wine.
To be fair, we should be doing that anyway. Particularly as, over the next seven days, vineyards, restaurants, wine bars and shops across the country open their doors and invite people to discover the literal fruits of our local craftsmanship.
